Flower Pounding with Theresa Gooby

Website

Celebrate the beauty of the season by turning fresh flowers into a one-of-a-kind botanical keepsake.

Overview In this beginner-friendly workshop, you'll learn the art of flower pounding—a simple and surprisingly magical technique that transfers the natural pigments and delicate details of flowers directly onto fabric. We'll gather outdoors in our backyard garden whenever possible, surrounded by the very flowers that inspire the process. (If the weather doesn't cooperate, we'll move the workshop indoors to the studio.) No experience is necessary—just come ready to slow down, experiment, and enjoy a creative afternoon inspired by nature.

What's Included Please bring a hammer. We'll have a few available at the studio in case anyone forgets or families need to share. By the end of the workshop, you'll leave with your own flower-pounded tote bag and a beautiful new creative technique you can continue exploring at home.

About Your Instructor Theresa Gooby is a Beacon-based artist, former Director of Beacon Open Studios, and a familiar face at the Beacon Farmers' Market. She loves sharing creative processes inspired by the natural world and helping others discover the beauty in everyday materials.
