Join us for a hands-on workshop with local artist Elizabeth Mihaltse Lindy to learn how to make inks from plants, minerals, and animal materials. Discover how to extract rich colors from your surroundings, using items like wilted flowers, berries, pits, and bark, and transform them into expressive inks and paints with natural binders. Each material holds its own unique story and beauty.
We will explore the ephemeral nature of many plant- and animal-based inks, and learn techniques for modifying and deepening their colors. Through hands-on experimentation with simple chemistry, you'll witness colors shift and transform as you create a palette sourced directly from the natural world.
All materials will be provided. No experience is necessary, and all skill levels are welcome.
